Training Room/Locker Room Addition

Rhinelander Ice Association Addition and Remodel Fundraising

With the help of a large donation, the Rhinelander Ice Association is embarking on an expansion and improvement project at Rhinelander Ice Arena to provide better facilities to the youth of Rhinelander as well as to the teams that visit the Arena.  We’ve received a donation which should cover a majority of the building costs of the addition, but to be better able to complete the entire scope of the project which includes a rework and remodel of our current locker rooms, we are seeking additional donations and sponsorships.

The Rhinelander Ice Association is a 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to providing and improving youth ice sports in the Rhinelander area.  Currently, the RIA is home to approximately 120 youth hockey players (ages 3-18) and 40 figure skaters.  We also offer open skate, learn to skate, and numerous other programs in line with our mission.  Throughout the course of the winter, the RIA hosts 6-8 hockey tournaments that have a substantial and positive impact on the Rhinelander economy.  During the 2014-2015 season, the RIA tournaments brought in over 1,300 hotel room stays and this season we are on track to be near 1,500 hotel room stays.

By enhancing our facility, we’ll be better able to suit the needs of our members, and provide a more appealing facility for visiting teams so that they continue to return for many seasons to come.  We plan to add 3 additional locker rooms equipped with bathrooms, a multipurpose activity room (for puck shooting, workouts, weight training, warm ups, etc), and additional meeting and storage space.  Our current locker room area was built with mostly volunteer labor in the early 1990s and is crowded and aging.  In an effort to also upgrade existing space, one of the projects additional donations would go towards is a reworking of our current locker rooms so that skaters and parents alike have a cleaner and more comfortable space.

We are seeking your help to complete this project by our ambitious goal date of October 2016.  The next sheet has outlined the donation levels.  All donors will be recognized on our “Wall of Fame” near the entrance to the locker room area.  Donations are tax deductible and a receipt can be provided.  We thank you for considering donating to our organization.
